Tenure-Track Faculty Position Available
The Biomedical Engineering Department at Virginia Commonwealth University invites applications from qualified candidates for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level for Fall 2012. Faculty candidates should have a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering or a related discipline. Candidates are expected to teach courses in the program at both the undergraduate and graduate levels; to interact with faculty in Biomedical Engineering, medicine, and engineering; and to develop and conduct externally funded biomedical research. Current areas of interest include topics related to drug delivery, tissue engineering, and regenerative medicine. Nanofibers and nervous system regeneration research is also of primary interest.
Successful candidates at the senior level should have a substantial, established record of publication and external funding. Also, candidates must have demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
Biomedical Engineering at Virginia Commonwealth University offers the B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees and collaborates closely with clinicians and biomedical scientists on the Medical College of Virginia (MCV) campus of the university in downtown Richmond, Virginia. The MCV campus is the nation's fourth largest medical academic campus.
